Gloucester Show, 11th March, 2005 - Judge, Mr John Fahey
What a shame show committees can't "claim a date" - so many shows
were held this weekend - Gresford, Muswellbrook and Gloucester all clashed with
competitors having to make the choice of where to go to.
With this in mind, Gloucester still had a pretty good roll-up,
We took Silverthorn Country Music, the yearling filly; and Silverthorn My
Girl, the two-year-old. Bob Murray was there with his colt Silverthorn Coee and
his yearling filly Silverthorn Springfield.
- Country Music was placed second to Springfield's first in the yearling
filly class. Springfield (pictured below) went on to
be the reserve champion yearling.

- Cooee was placed in the colt 2 and 3 years.

- My Girl was first in her led class, and was second in the mare hack and
ultimately reserve champion ASH hack.

Congratulations to Melissa Payne and Silverthorn Royal Astra:
- Morisset Show: Reserve champion led buckskin gelding and reserve
champion ridden buckskin
- Cessnock Show: 2nd led buckskin gelding, 1st ridden buckskin
gelding and reserve champion ridden buckskin.
- St Ives Show: 1st led buckskin gelding and 1st best presented
buckskin gelding
- Castle Hill Show: Best presented buckskin and 3rd ridden buckskin

gelding, champion ridden buckskin; supreme champion ridden coloured horse

- Matcham Valley Dressage Day: 2nd Preliminary 1.1, 1st Novice 2.1,
1st Novice 2.3

Wingham Show, March 6, 2005 - Judge Mr Tony Sherrin
Organisers of Wingham Show decided to change the format of their annual show
by removing the stock horse classes from the breeds day to the following day
when the campdraft was run. As a result numbers of stock horses were down by
more than half from previous years - very disappointing but the day was very
relaxed and enjoyable.
We took our two fillies, Silverthorn My Girl and Silverthorn Country Music.
- Country Music took the blue for yearling filly and then on to champion
mare/filly.
- Girl had a good day with a firsts in her led class, station horse, walking
horse and maiden hack, a second in her novice hack and a third in working
mare. Good effort for a two-year-old.
These fillies also won the sires group (Montcalm Luke).
Newcastle Show, March 5, 2005
Congratulations to Bob Murray for champion mare/filly with his yearling filly
Silverthorn Springfield.
2005 Royal Canberra Show - Judge, M/s Teena Bridge
Said to be the largest show in Australia. A long way to travel in the trying
hot conditions but worth it when we did so well in huge classes against tough
competition.
-
Jugaby had a wonderful show. He went out and won Supreme ASH after winning
his class and then champion stallion/colt. Saddled up and he did us proud
with a first in his working stallion class and a fourth in his hack class.
Paul had a buzz when he was invited to take part in the the ring
entertainment which involved some of the stock horses.
-
My Girl, our two-year-old black filly took out a fourth in her
'ASH any sex
under four years' class which had 26 catalogued entries. A great result for a
youngster in her first year out under saddle.
-
Madalyn placed third in her led mare class of 16 entries. She then was
placed in her mare working class.
Maitland Show, 18th February - Judge, M/s Toni Bull
Our first outing for 2005. An enormous number of Australian Stock Horses
here, many classes had 20 or more entries.
- We had a very good day in the ridden ring with Knights Jugaby winning both
his hack and working classes, and reserve champion working.
- Our two-year-old filly Silverthorn My Girl had an excellent day in huge
classes taking out seconds in novice hack, 3 year old hack, 3yrs and under
working and novice working.
January, 2005
- We see that there is a Silverthorn mare (Silverthorn Olympia) offered for
sale at the Hunter Branch ASH Show/Sale - a full sister to our very
successful mares Madalyn and Eclipse. Check her out on the ASHS website.
- Back on the show trail with Morisset being the first for many Silverthorn
horses. We weren't able to be there but heard that we were very well
represented in the ASH ring. Bob Murray's filly Silverthorn Springfield won
the supreme led ASH of the show. Springfield was champion junior ASH filly
with Miss Tiffany Green's Montcalm Luke filly Celadon Evangeline reserve
champion ASH fillly.
- That same week Evangeline was shown at the East Coast Arabian
Championships in Sydney where she took out Champion Arabian Stock Horse
Filly.
Pictured is Miss Tiffany Green with her champion filly Celadon
Evangeline.

- This attractive black two-year-old gelding, Silverthorn Cataneal Joe, by
Montcalm Luke from Timor Janelle has been sold to Miss Chanelle Littler who
is doing plenty of pleasure riding and stock work on this little gelding.
Check out his pedigree
here.
