Gloucester Branch ASHS Show and Campdraft held on 22nd and 23d of
October
Judges for the show were Wally Martin and Greg Ainsworth.
Campdraft judges were Wally Martin and Ray Brown.
An excellent branch show with record entries despite the inclement
weather. Fantastic sponsorships and prizes. We had a wonderful weekend
with our horses, with the following results:
- Knights Jugaby took out Hi Point Senior Horse of the day after
winning champion stallion with Paul and then with Kylie Blanch in the
saddle, 1st in the stockman's turnout class, 3rd in the stallion hack,
champion working, 3rd in the open challenge and supreme champion
ridden. Paul and Kylie both had runs on Jugaby in the campdraft, Paul
got into the final of the maiden and Kylie had a run in the ladies.

- Silverthorn My Girl with April Spriggs on board took out a 2nd in
the junior stockmans turnout and a 3rd in the mare hack.
- Silverthorn Country Music was placed second in her two-year-old
filly class to her sister Silverthorn Springfield owned by Bob Murray.
- Bob Murray's Silverthorn Springfield came first in her two-year-old
filly class and went on to become junior champion.
- In the group classes, Montcalm Luke won the sires' progeny group
with Silverthorn Springfield and Clovernook Sienna Rose, Six S Stud
Charity won the mares group with Silverthorn My Girl and Silverthorn
Danni Girl, and Silverthorn Stud won the breeders group with
Silverthorn Country Music, Silverthorn Springfield and Silverthorn
Danni Girl.

Cumberland Branch ASH Show, Camden, 16-17th October - Judges, J Meyers
and W Martin
As always we enjoyed our weekend at the Cumberland
Branch Show at Camden in overcast conditions on the first day that came
into rain on the second. Day one saw Silverthorn Country Music place 5th
in a line-up of 17 two-year-old quality futurity horses and then a 3rd
place in the two-year-old filly class. Young April Spriggs came along with
us for the competition and first up won her juvenile handler class. Then
in the saddle with Silverthorn My Girl, took out 4 firsts, a second and a
reserve champion working horse. The points earned over the day ultimately
resulted with April winning the Hi Point Youth trophy rug. Congratulations
April.

Day two saw:
- April take out a second in the junior judging.
- Knights Jugaby with reserve champion stallion, a 3rd in his snaffle
bit hack and a 2nd in his working class.
- Our sires progeny group of two, with My Girl and Country Music came
third out of a good line-up of quality horses.
- My Girl won the three-year-old futurity, and had seconds in the
three and under snaffle bit hack, working horse, and station horse
classes.

Pictured below is Mr Ron Dyer, a return buyer, with his very smart
yearling gelding Silverthorn Barrington. We wish Ron all the best with his
purchase and look forward to seeing them out and about. Barrington is from
Elle Astra by Montcalm Luke and full brother to our very successful mares,
Madalyn and Eclipse.

Taree Show, 8th October - Judge Steve Bull
Weather-wise the day looked promising but by about 10am it was blowing
hats off everywhere making competition difficult. Nevertheless we had
another top day with Jugaby and Country Music.

and the next day received the
"Best Performed Horse Award over 4 Tests" in the dressage,
having won 2 tests, and placed in the other 2.

Manning Valley All Breeds and Hack Show, 2nd October - Judge, Dawn
Johnson
Held at the Wingham Showground, a show we always enjoy, and this year
was no exception.
We had a terrific show with our two fillies, Silverthorn My Girl and
Silverthorn Country Music and the stallion Knights Jugaby.
- My Girl was placed second to Country Music in their led class. With
young April Spriggs in the saddle My Girl was placed 3rd in the ASH
hack mare and 2nd in the working stock horse mare. April was placed
2nd in the ASHLA class on My Girl.
- Country Music placed first in her led class then went on to win
champion filly or mare and finally supreme ASH exhibit.
- We used the two fillies in our sire's progeny group of two for a
first in a very large class.
- Now Jugaby - what a day he had! First in his led stallion class then
on to champion stallion or colt. First in the stallion hack, 1st in
best educated stock horse, 1st in working stock horse stallion and
champion working horse. Champion open working horse or pony, Champion
all breed stallion on plain bit for the George Cooper Memorial Trophy
and then Paul riding Jugaby took out the George Hickman Memorial
Trophy for the veteran rider class.
