Cumberland Branch ASH Show, Camden, 16-17th October - Judges, J Meyers and W Martin

As always we enjoyed our weekend at the Cumberland Branch Show at Camden in overcast conditions on the first day that came into rain on the second. Day one saw Silverthorn Country Music place 5th in a line-up of 17 two-year-old quality futurity horses and then a 3rd place in the two-year-old filly class. Young April Spriggs came along with us for the competition and first up won her juvenile handler class. Then in the saddle with Silverthorn My Girl, took out 4 firsts, a second and a reserve champion working horse. The points earned over the day ultimately resulted with April winning the Hi Point Youth trophy rug. Congratulations April.

Day two saw:

  • April take out a second in the junior judging.
  • Knights Jugaby with reserve champion stallion, a 3rd in his snaffle bit hack and a 2nd in his working class.
  • Our sires progeny group of two, with My Girl and Country Music came third out of a good line-up of quality horses.
  • My Girl won the three-year-old futurity, and had seconds in the three and under snaffle bit hack, working horse, and station horse classes.

My Girl 3 yr old futurity CCASH.

A very big weekend!

and the next day received the "Best Performed Horse Award over 4 Tests" in the dressage, having won 2 tests, and placed in the other 2.

  • Country music was placed first in her led class and was reserve champion mare/filly. April Spriggs rode her for a second in the ASH hack ridden by a junior and second also in the maiden hack.
