We have just delivered to M/s Anna Keys on the Central Coast, the lovely little bay two-year-old filly Silverthorn Seren (by Montcalm Luke) and we are looking forward to seeing Seren out under saddle soon.

Congratulations to Dave Anschau, a repeat buyer, on his purchase of Silverthorn Carys, the attractive buckskin filly we had on our sale page.

Pictured below is Silverthorn Grandstand, a very smart two-year-old gelding, just before his sale to Mrs Sue Southey. We wish Sue all the best with her purchase. Grandstand is from Elle Astra by Montcalm Luke and full brother to our very successful mares, Madalyn and Eclipse.

Congratulations to Melissa Payne who recently successfully competed at Zone 24 Pony Club Jamboree at Morriset, won the Matcham Valley Dressage trophy for most points accumulated at dressage competitions for 2005; a silver medal from Somersby Equestrian Club; and a very successful Buckskin Nationals at Hawkesbury Showground including reserve champion ridden gelding. Congratulations Melissa.

Melissa Payne also recently at an interschool dressage competition held at Windsor where she and Silverthorn Royal Astra won both their 1.1 and 1.2 tests with scores of 72 % and 68% = Champion Preliminary Pony (High School) and 2nd place in Novice 2.1.
At Blacktown Amateur Show, "Louie" won his Ridden Novice ASH class and Champion Ridden Stock Horse.
Melissa also represented Zone 24 at the Pony Club State Showriders Competition held at Morriset Showground.

Bulahdelah Show, November 18

A nice day weatherwise. Not as much competition as usual - not just in the stock horse ring, but across the board for all breeds.

We had Knights Jugaby, Silverthorn My Girl, Silverthorn Country Music and on his first outing, Silverthorn Walkabout (yearling colt by Knights Jugaby from Montcalm Lea). A first event for youngsters is a big ask but we were not disappointed in Walkabout who took in all the sights and sounds in his stride and behaved himself perfectly. I must mention here that we put a lot of time into our youngsters before an outing.

  • Silverthorn Walkabout was placed second in his yearling colt class.
  • Jugaby was reserve champion stallion/colt after placing first in his led height class. With Kylie Blanch in the saddle he came second in both the stallion hack and stallion working.
  • Country Music, our two year old came second to Bob Murray's Silverthorn Springfield. Springfield was also reserve champion mare/filly.
  • My Girl placed third in her led class to Country Music and Springfield (three Silverthorn fillies in the lineup), and second in the mare hack with April Spriggs on board and first in the working mare and reserve champion working ASH. April and Girl also took out first in the ASHLA event.
