Wallamba AH&S Show, Nabiac, 18th March - Judge, Mr Neville Holz (ASH and ANSA)

We've attended Wallamba AH&S shows for years and this one would have been the biggest we've ever seen. Huge numbers of horses and riders in every ring, the Australian Stock Horse ring being no exception. It was nice to see so many horses by Montcalm Luke out and about. Silverthorn horses had a very successful day with the following results:

* Silverthorn Cooee, Bob Murray's 3 year old colt was placed first in the stallion class, and ultimately reserve champion in the ANSA ring; first in the stallion class and reserve champion in the Australian Stock Horse ring.

* Silverthorn Springfield, Bob Murray's 2 year old filly placed 1st in her ANSA class, 2nd to Silverthorn MyGirl in her ASH class then 3rd in a huge ASH mare hack class.

* Silverthorn My Girl had a good day with a second in the Galloway ring followed by reserve champion Galloway. She then went over to the ASH ring and took out 1st in her filly class and went on to take out champion mare/filly.

* Silverthorn Danni Girl, our yearling filly, worked a treat taking out a first in a large yearling filly class and went on to take out champion ASH yearling (see picture of Danni below).

* Knights Jugaby went in the stallion hack and stallion working and was placed second in both classes.

* Silverthorn My Girl had a good day with a second in the Galloway ring followed by reserve champion Galloway. She then went over to the ASH ring and took out 1st in her filly class and went on to take out champion mare/filly. Girl was also placed 3rd in her mare working class.

Canberra Royal Show, 24th February

Bob Murray's colt Silverthorn Cooee was placed second in a class of 22 colts at Canberra Royal Show, congratulatons Bob!

Maitland Show, 17th February - Judge, M/s Kim Sheridan

Maitland Show is usually a hot affair but this year was overcast until a huge thunderstorm interrupted our working classes, drenching all on the ground and filling our boots to overflowing.
Soaked to the skin, we packed up and came home before the working classes finished.
Up until the storm we were having a good day with Silverthorn My Girl taking out a first in her led class (10 fillies) with Bob Murray's filly Silverthorn Springfield coming third and our Silverthorn Country Road coming in fourth.
* Bob's colt Silverthorn Cooee won his led class and was ultimately champion stallion/colt.
* My Girl was placed 3rd in her 3yrs and under hack and came second in her 3yrs and under working class.
* Country Music came second in a class of 17 in the novice hack.

Morisset Lake Macquarie Ag Assoc Show, 4th February - Judge Lou Walsh

What a great turnout for Morisset Show, the stock horse classes went until 4pm. There were huge classes, often having to be divided. In the three-year-old working and hack classes we counted 15 entrants each time. We put two of the fillies in the led classes (Silverthorn My Girl and Silverthorn Danni Girl), both of whom took out second ribbons. Under saddle with young April Spriggs, My Girl came 3rd in her ASHLA class. Paul then rode Girl for wins in the 3 and under hack and 3 and under working classes which as I mentioned above were huge classes and then placed 3rd in the mare working - a top day for this filly. Then Country Music with young Caitlin Bowman in the saddle, 3rds in the junior rider 13-18yrs and junior hack 13-18yrs and a 2nd in the ASHLA - great effort for a two-year-old. Knights Jugaby won the stallion hack and stallion working - a very pleasing result.
