Shotgun is full brother to our very successfully performed gelding Carbine. After the loss of our sire Montcalm Luke the previous season, he arrived at a time when we were hoping for a colt from the great producing mare, Haydon Avril; and could possibly carry on the Luke bloodline. To our delight she produced this very flashy colt. Shotgun has shown been extensively during 2006-2011 with pleasing results.

During 2007 as a yearling he notched up 9 firsts, four reserve champions, four champions and a supreme ASH of the show.

At Sydney Royal 2007 and still a yearling, he took part in the Australian Stock Horse Society parade under saddle, in front of thousands and thousands of people and conducted himself like an old stager.

Shotgun is producing top quality foals with his temperament, looks and personality.

He made his debut under saddle in 2009 and with his lovely soft movement, athleticism and presence has won a substantial number of hack and working championships including Four Year Old Futurity winner at the 2009 Cumberland Branch ASHS Show; first in the Working ASH stallion at Canberra Royal 2010; and at Sydney Royal 2010 he was fourth in the working stallion class. At the 2010 Northern Branch Show held at AELEC Tamworth Shotgun was High Point Horse of the Show. Sydney Royal Show 2011 saw him win senior rider station horse as well as placing in three other events.

“Shottie” is a lovely natured horse, with a wealth of personality and is a favourite with everyone who sees him. He is a deep chocolate in colour measures 14.3.1/2hh.
