Bulahdelah Show was our last opportunity to earn some performance points for our Sydney Royal entries for our pony Amaranda Joyfull. So a day just in the pony ring was somewhat of a change for Brittany who is always in the stock horse ring. Bulahdelah Show is a lovely, friendly country show set on grounds surrounded by big shady trees. With three rings on the go plus a huge campdraft in progress, there was plenty of action in what turned out to be a very hot day.
In well represented classes, “Pony” won her mare four years and over in the Australian Saddle Pony class; first in the mare four years and over in the Australian Pony Stud Book class then on to Champion APSB Exhibit; first in the mare four years and over in her Part Welsh class and on to Champion Part Welsh Exhibit – very pleasing results that made the trip over a long, narrow and dusty road, well worthwhile.
Glancing over at the stock horse ring on the far side of the arena there appeared to be huge numbers, and we were told that their day didn’t finish until 5.30pm – such a long day in all that heat. We were fortunate enough to find ourselves in the ring right next to the action packed campdraft arena, so were able to watch while we were waiting on our own classes.
It was lovely to catch up with our pony pals as well as many of our stock horse friends as well as making a few new ones on the day.
