Silverthorn My Girl

My Girl is currently in our show team and is full sister to Danny Boy, St Jude, Danni Girl and Elliette.

Girl is now a six year old mare and from the time she was a yearling has given us some wonderful moments.

As a yearling she won the coveted Buckley Shield for yearlings at the Eastern Branch ASH Show 2003, Supreme Junior ASH at the Cumberland Branch ASH Show 2003, Supreme ASH at the New England Branch ASH Show 2003, Supreme Yearling of the Show at the Manning All Breeds Show 2003, Supreme ASH at the Gloucester AH&S Show, just to mention some of her wins.

Girl is by Montcalm Luke from Six S Stud Charity.

In 2004 Girl followed up with many championships and placings as two-year-old in both led and ridden events.

2005 saw Girl with open status in the hack ring and still winning hack and working classes as well as taking out champions and supremes in the led ring. Highlight of her year was at Cumberland Branch ASH Show at Camden when April Spriggs won Hi Point Youth of the Show on the Saturday and on the Sunday this great little filly won the Three Year Old Futurity with Paul.

In 2006 Girl had a wonderful run with many high placings in huge classes in led, hack and working ASH; reserve champion junior led filly in a field of 35 fillies, and fourth in the three year old futurity from 20 entries at the Hunter Branch ASHS Show, Scone. Wallamba show saw her reserve champion led galloway from 40 entrants and champion led ASH mare/filly. Champion led ASH mare/filly at both Wingham and Gloucester Shows and at a very successful Stroud show she was awarded High Point ASH of the show after winning champion ASH mare/filly, supreme led ASH, and many high placings in her hack and working classes. Sydney Royal 2006 saw her place first in her led class, first in her junior rider station horse, rider under 18 years with April Spriggs, and two fourths in her hack classes and a third in her working class. Girl was Hi Point ASH at Taree Show after winning champion mare/filly, firsts in mare hack, mare working, open station horse and champion ASH working; at Eastern Branch ASHS Show was reserve champion led mare; at Wingham All Breeds and Hack Show and also Singleton Show she was reserve champion ASH mare/filly.

In 2007, as a mature mare at Gloucester Show My Girl won her led class, champion mare or filly, and supreme led ASH exhibit, and was reserve champion ASH mare at Wallamba Show. At the Hunter Branch ASH Show Girl took out reserve champion working of the show. At Sydney Royal Girl placed 5th in her led class with 3rd and 5th placings in her hack classes and a 4th in her working mare class; in the team penning Girl was in the team that was runner-up (17 teams participated). In the Gloucester Branch ASHS pointscore for 2006-2007 Girl was Hi Point Horse after taking out runner-up in hack, working and led sections.

Girl and her siblings have won many sire’s and mare’s progeny groups as well as breeders groups for us – as a breeder, to win these events is very satisfying.

During the years 2008-2009 this mare has continued to take us on this fantastic journey of hers bringing home many more championships for us as well as highlighting her versatility by placing in her led and hack classes and then winning the Senior ASH campdraft from 35 competitors at Sydney Royal Show 2009
