Season’s Greetings

2015 has been another big year and one that will hold special memories for all of us here at Silverthorn.
Our horsemanship clinics both at home and away are always a source of pleasure and satisfaction. To watch riders improve before our very eyes and then later, to see them competing at elite levels of their disciplines with great success, fills us with a great sense of achievement. We have been very fortunate to have been assisted with talented coaches from other disciplines whose competent expertise is reflected in the wonderful achievements they themselves have enjoyed in their own performances over the past 12 months.
We’ve been favoured with many great wins for our hard working team over the year – Brittany Hetherington’s successes in led, hack, working and ASHLA on our mare Silverthorn Guns and Roses exceeded all our expectations – her performances have reflected her dedication and professionalism representing Silverthorn. Our successes on our two three-year-old colts Tarraway Jackson and Silverthorn Man O War with major wins in three-year-old events and futurities has also been very pleasing and looking good for great futures for both of them.
With the export of Silverthorn Shotgun’s semen to the US earlier in the year we now look forward to hearing of the arrival of his progeny over there in 2016.

We have some talented young horses being prepared for 2016 and are looking forward to introducing them to the show ring.

Our stallions Shotgun and Freckles continue to produce outstanding foals for us, making the choice of which ones to campaign and retain very difficult indeed.

Silverthorn horses continue to make their presence felt with wonderful performances for their young riders across the country. We have been closely watching their progress during the year and we congratulate them all for the success they have enjoyed.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Stan Bowd – Custom Made Saddlery, Bombers Australia, Baileys of Greta, Proteq Equine Bedding and Castlereagh Feeds for their support during the year.
We wish you a joyous Christmas and may all that is beautiful, meaningful, and brings you joy, be yours this holiday season.
